FIRST AID DISINFECTING PRODUCTS
Acu-Sol's range of First Aid Disinfecting products have been carefully formulated using Cetrimide as well as a combination using Chlorhexidine Gluconate. These formulations are available in concentrated as well as ready to use preparations for ease of use.
Cetrimide is a quaternary ammonium antiseptic and surfactant that is used for disinfection and to sterilize during first aid. Cetrimide has antiseptic, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Cetrimide works by affecting membrane permeability allowing ‘leaking’ of essential cell constituents leading to cell death and hence treats infection. Cetrimide has also shown to be effective against some viruses.

Chemical Structure
Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) is a disinfectant and antiseptic that is used for disinfection and to sterilize surgical instruments. Chlorhexidine is a broad-spectrum biocide effective against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and fungi. It inactivates microorganisms and has a fast kill rate by both inhibiting bacterial growth and killing bacteria. Chlorhexidine can kill nearly 100% of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
